Why the title for this blog?

I struggle with staying positive in the sight of adversity. It is very easy for me to dwell on the negative aspects of my situation and miss the blessings that come from the trial and so I will use this blog to help me stay focused on the rainbows of my life.

Day of Great Joy

It has been 3 & 1/2 months since my last Chemotherapy/ Rituxin Round and so today I decided it was time to have my blood Chemistry and my Protime / INR levels checked. I could have jumped up and down for joy when I saw the results. Everything is back to normal levels! My body has recovered from being knocked down! I give praise that Heavenly Father created us in such a way that our bodies can bounce back even after such horrible drugs have gone through them. I know however that He has also blessed me immensely from all of the fasting and prayers that have been said on my behalf. Thank you all for your love, encouragement and support during this past 10 1/2 months!

    That's great news! I should probably say something about the science here, though. It's true the chemo drugs are hard on your body, but it's also true that they need to be. The fact that your body is able to recover from them in only a few months' time is abundant proof of how well they do their job. It took so many years and so many millions of dollars and so much human ingenuity to develop these things they way they have. Just think of what Grandma had to go through!

    Melinda, my ever present scientist! I love you lots! Are you sure you don't want to research human genetics? I am almost 100% sure that that would be a rewarding field, especially if you could save lives from... Oh wait a minute that is exactly what you will be doing! Saving lives from suffering from famine and drought and maybe herbicides and pesticides and ....
